Jonathan Milo Leal, founder of Vino de Milo, takes an artful approach to creating wine-based specialty foods.

His newest venture is a line of wine-infused salad dressings. It was difficult to choose one to spotlight among the three in intriguing combinations: Mango Lemongrass Chardonnay,Gorgonzola Pear Riesling, and Pomegranate Port. I let my current passion for pomegranate guide me to the pomegranate port dressing. I wasn’t disappointed.

The creamy variety is a delectable blend that melds the tartness of pomegranate, orange and red wine vinegar with the sweetness of pear juice partnered with a fruity ruby port. The dressing definitely gave what would have been another boring salad a big boost.

The dressings are made from 100 percent fruit concentrate with no added sugars or preservatives. They are also gluten free.
